John Teller

Pro Ski Cross

John was born and raised in Mammoth Lakes, CA. His parents got him out on the slopes at an early age and it did not take them long to realize John was a natural. By the age of eight he was racing with the Mammoth Race Program. Over the years John matured into a solid four event racer, competing in five United States Alpine National Championships, and was on the cusp of making the U.S. Alpine Ski Team, but without a breakthrough he made a decision to ski for fun and give up racing.

After a couple of seasons went by with no competitive ski outlet a friend convinced John to give the exciting and relatively new sport of Skier Cross a try. He took to the sport like a fish to water and caught the eye of the US Skier Cross Team. By the 2009-2010 ski season John was competing in Europe on the FIS Skier Cross World Cup Circuit with the US Team.

The 2010-2011 season was a break out year for John. He became the first American to win a World Cup Ski Cross event at St. Johann in Tirol , Austria. John topped that by taking home X Games gold in Aspen. He then kept his solid results going to end up in 4th place in the World Cup standings.

John lives in Mammoth Lakes, CA with his wife. When he is not competing in Europe on the Ski Cross World Cup or charging the slopes of Mammoth Mountain, John works as a mechanic in the family business.
